“Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish , but understand what the Lords will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV
These verses hit me in some of my reading yesterday…living wisely is living morally, in God’s will. I’m mostly doing that, but not fully. One could say on the bigger things, but maybe a few little things, cursing, watching shows that aren’t appropriate, telling “little” white lies. However, that isn’t fitting for a Christian way of life. I need to be all in! What example does that set for my son? Or for others that are watching me as a Christ follower?
The part of these scriptures that undeniably struck me was “making the most of every opportunity.” We live in an evil, flesh filled world and our time is limited. I felt as though the Spirit ask me, are you making the most of every opportunity? Am I truly making the most of every opportunity given to me to show Jesus? It could be a conversation, a prayer, an act of kindness. This is part of knowing what the Lord’s will is, by knowing His Word.
